INQUIRY BY DESIGN ARGUMENTATION ACTIVITY: MELATIHKAN KEMAMPUAN KOGNITIF PADA PEMBELAJARAN FISIKA

Abstract

 

 

The idea of development of inquiry by design argumentation activity was to design a learning innovations make it easier for students to mastery cognitive abilities in physics learning. Development of instructional design begins with a preliminary study at several schools in Bima district. Preliminary studies conducted by conducting a test to some students, then observe the lesson activities. The results of preliminary studies showed that cognitive abilities of students in general was still low, especially in aspect of applying (C3) and analyzed (C4) ability. Based on the results of preliminary study, stages of inquiry by design argumentation activities was designed. Stages of learning: (1) identify the problems to be investigated, (2) formulate hypotheses using activities of argumentation, (3) doing experiments using models of inquiry experimental combined with argumentation activity, (4) analyzing data guided by student worksheet based on inquiry by design argumentation activity, (5) communicating the results of analyzing data using argumentation activities.

Gagasan dikembangkannya desain pembelajaran inkuiri yang menggunakan kegiatan argumentasi adalah untuk merancang sebuah inovasi pembelajaran yang lebih memudahkan siswa dalam menguasai kemampuan kognitif pada pembelajaran fisika. Pengembangan desain pembelajaran ini diawali dengan melakukan studi pendahuluan di beberapa sekolah di kabupaten Bima. Studi pendahuluan dilakukan dengan melakukan tes kepada beberapa siswa, lalu melakukan observasi terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran yang dilakukan. Hasil studi pendahuluan yang dilakukan menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan kognitif siswa secara umum masih rendah, terutama pada aspek menerapkan (C3) dan menganalisis (C4). Berdasarkan hasil studi pendahuluan tersebut, maka disusun desain pembelajaran inkuiri menggunakan kegiatan argumentasi. Tahapan pembelajarannya yaitu (1) mengidentifikasi masalah untuk diselidiki, (2) merumuskan hipotesis menggunakan kegiatan argumentasi, (3) melakukan eksperimen dengan model eksperimen inkuiri yang dipadukan dengan setting argumentasi, (4) melakukan analisis data dengan panduan lembar kerja siswa (LKS) berbasis inkuiri yang di setting argumentasi, (5) mengkomunikasikan hasil analisis menggunakan kegiatan argumentasi.
