Abstract

Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) have several obstacles in developing their business, such as limitations in terms of capital, mastery of technology, human resources and business management. For this reason, a financial institution is needed to cover the source of capital for MSMEs. Institutions that handle micro-scale financing namely Venture Capital Company (PMV). Venture capital financing is different from a bank, because it provides financing by direct participation in the business partner it finances, besides that venture capital is an active investment which is always accompanied by involvement in the management of the company being financed. PT. Sarana Lampung Ventura is the only PMV based in Lampung, which currently focuses on financing using a profit sharing pattern, where this pattern is very well known in the Islamic economy. PT. Sarana Lampung Ventura has had a positive impact on the development of business partners, this can be seen from the increase in sales turnover. However, in the implementation there are still many obstacles faced, especially related to the application of the principles of venture capital as active financing including the implementation of guarantees and management assistance. And for the profit sharing pattern applied by PT. Sarana Lampung Ventura to a business partner is a type of financing where a certain percentage of profit is first set every month or from a predetermined period to be given by a business partner to a venture capital company. In terms of assistance to business partners both in the management placement and management coaching has not been fully implemented, where management assistance provided by PT. Sarana Lampung Ventura adapts to the needs of business partners which are only in the form of advice or consultation. In Islamic economic perspectives, this is still not appropriate.
