Efektivitas Penerapan Service Learning terhadap Peningkatan Kompetensi Siswa Pendidikan Vokasional

Abstract


Untuk menciptakan pembelajaran yang efektif diperlukan integrasi pengetahuan, keterampilan dan pengalaman. Service learning merupakan pembelajaran yang dapat mengintegrasikan ketiga kompenen tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan efektivitas dari penerapan service learning pada pembelajaran Manual Metal Arc Welding di vocational high school. Efektivitas ditinjau dari peningkatan kompetensi siswa, ketuntasan klasikal dan penilaian masyarakat. Untuk melihat peningkatan kompetensi siswa dilakukan dengan metode pretest dan posttest yang selanjutnya dianalisis dengan persamaan gain score. Ketuntasan klasikal ditinjau dari berapa persen nilai siswa mencapai kriteria ketuntasan minimal. Penilaian dari masyarakat menggunakan instrumen angket. Dari hasil analisis gain score terdapat peningkatan kompetensi siswa dalam kategeri sedang, hasil analisis ketuntasan klasikal menunjukan bahwa ketuntasan siswa 91.67 % dan rata-rata penilaian masyarakat dalam kategori puas. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa service learning efektif diterapkan untuk pembelajaran pada vocational high school. Siswa mendapatkan pengalaman dalam hal mengaplikasikan kompetensi yang dipelajari disekolah pada proyek pelayanan masyarakat. Interpersonal skill siswa berkembang selama kegiatan pelayanan masyarakat yang dilakukan.
