PENGARUH PEMBELAJARAN THINK PAIR SQUARE TERHADAP REPRESENTASI MATEMATIS DAN SELF-CONFIDENCE SISWA

Abstract


The objective of this research was to find out the influence of using cooperative learning model in Think

Pair  Square  type  (TPSq)  toward  the  mathematical  representation  of  students  self-confidence.  The

population  in  this  research  were  all  seventh  grade  students  of  YPWKS  SMP  Cilegon  in  semester

2017/2018 academic year, with the sampling used purposive sampling technique to select two classes that

would receive two treatments, there are the experimental class with TPSq learning and control class withcooperative learning normal. This research was an experimental research with non-equivalent pretest posttest control group design. The instrument used a mathematical representation test skill and a non-test of students' self-confidence. The results was: (1) the final achievement and the improvement of representation ability of students who did TPSq learning was better than cooperative learning models and (2) The final achievement and the improvement of self-confidence who did TPSq learning was better than ordinary cooperative learning models.
