MORAL CRISIS IN EDUCATION

Abstract

A moral crisis is a negative crisis that can impact social structures and aspects of life in families, schools, and communities. The family environment, the community/external environment, and the school environment all have an influence on moral education. The first important step in resolving the difficulties of the moral crisis is to include character education. The lack of character education in schools is one of the causes of a moral crisis among students. Character training, a kind of moral teaching and personal style of behavior, is one method that shows character ideals through facts, feelings, and activities. Ethical emergencies also arise when people begin to lose great people, which can cause problems in everyday life. It is, therefore, a technique for conveying moral principles that combines behavioral, emotional, and intellectual elements. Character training can overcome these problems and produce productive community members who are in accordance with the ethics of the Indonesian state.
