Community Empowerment Through PKBM Bina Warga in Improving the Life Skills of Street Children in Serang City

Abstract


ABSTRAK

Pemberdayaan masyarakat merupakan salah satu upaya penguatan beberapa aspek pemberdayaan untuk mengangkat harkat dan martabat masyarakat yang tidak mampu mengandalkan kekuatannya sendiri sehingga dapat keluar dari jerat kemiskinan dan keterbelakangan. Hal inilah yang nantinya akan melahirkan kemampuan keterampilan hidup anak jalanan. Keterampilan hidup merupakan pendidikan yang memberikan keterampilan praktis yang relevan dengan kebutuhan pasar kerja, peluang usaha, dan potensi ekonomi atau industri di masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pemberdayaan masyarakat yang dilakukan PKBM Bina Warga dalam meningkatkan keterampilan hidup anak jalanan di Kota Serang. Tahapan penelitian ini adalah menentukan kata kunci, proses pencarian sesuai kriteria, dan analisis artikel. Data untuk studi pustaka dikumpulkan dengan bantuan perangkat lunak Publish or Perish Access yang digunakan untuk mencari artikel yang diteliti menggunakan basis data Google Scholar dalam kurun waktu 5 tahun terakhir. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberdayaan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan hidup yang diterapkan pada anak jalanan tidak semudah yang dibayangkan. Terdapat kendala yang membuat pemberdayaan ini terhambat karena anak jalanan menganggap pemberdayaan tidak penting bagi mereka.
