ABSTRAK

Meningkatnya minat masyarakat dalam mendukung praktik pengasuhan muncul sebagai bentuk tanggapan semakin beragamnya gangguan dan ancaman pada keluarga, kebutuhan orang tua dalam membekali diri menjadi orang tua yang baik, tuntutan terhadap hak-hak anak, hingga pergeseran kebijakan pemerintah. Program parenting merupakan salah satu bentuk penyediaan layanan dukungan bagi orang tua yang dapat diakses secara luas untuk semua orang tua yang membutuhkan pengetahuan tambahan dalam praktik pengasuhan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyajikan gambaran mengenai kebijakan dan praktik dukungan orang tua melalui program parenting yang dilaksanakan di Taam Asy-Syafiiah Kota Tasikmalaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini yakni dengan melakukan observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Temuan penelitian menunjukan bahwa: a) program parenting yang diselenggarakan di Taam Asy-Syafi’iyah merupakan program pendidikan non-formal bagi orang tua yang diinisiasi oleh lembaga sebagai pengelola program dalam upaya mendukung program pemerintah; bertambahnya pengetahuan dan keterampilan  orang tua terkait bagaimana mengendalikan sikapnya ketika bersama dengan anak; c) membiasakan anak-anak mereka untuk mengucapkan terimakasih dan meminta maaf jika melakukan kesalahan; d) meningkatkan kesadaran orang tua sebagai pendidik yang pertama dan utama.
