The Metabolism Rate of Tilapia with Measured Oxygen Consumption
Abstract
Metabolism is a physiological process reflecting the energy expenditure of living organisms and hence their food requirements. This research aimed to determine the metabolic rate of tilapia with measured oxygen consumption. The results showed that protein and fat experienced the largest decline compared with carbohydrates. Value decreased levels of 0.47% protein, carbohydrate and fat of 0.05% and 0.42%. Respiration of Question value are the smallest in the 36th hour. The increase in the level of oxygen consumption will be followed by increasing the metabolic rate. Value respiration question does not necessarily indicate the rate of metabolism in tilapia.
