Abstract


Fenomena imigran di setiap negara merupakan isu yang hangat untuk diperbincangkan baik dari segi politik maupun budaya. Dalam karya sastra sendiri, khususnya puisi, fenomena pendatang ditampilkan sebagai sosok yang remeh. Tujuannya bukan untuk merendahkan seorang imigran tetapi untuk mengungkap realitas identitas dan inferioritasnya. Penelitian ini mengkaji fenomena pendatang dalam puisi Manifest karya Cynthia Dewi Oka. Oleh karena itu, topik-topik utama yang disebutkan di atas dapat digunakan untuk penelitian ini, terutama melalui pendekatan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Penelitian deskriptif-kualitatif menggambarkan sulitnya menemukan teori dan temuan dari data yang dianalisis atau digali. Permasalahan ini kemudian akan menjadi teori sastra yang terbarukan. Hasil dan pembahasannya adalah tujuh ayat tentang identitas, dan sepuluh ayat menunjukkan inferioritas kompleks.
