PENINGKATAN MOTIVASI BELAJAR & PEMAHAMAN SAINS MELALUI PENDEKATAN CRT BERBASIS PERMAINAN

Abstract: Learning motivation is one of the important factors in improving learning outcomes, particularly in the understanding of science. The research aims to enhance students’ learning motivation and understanding of science.on the topic of element and compound using the Culturally Responsive Teaching approach with game-based methods. The method in this research is classroom action research carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of four stages: planning, action, observation, and reflection. Learning motivation data was obtained through observation, while understanding of science was measured through summative test conducted at the end of each cycle. Data analysis used descriptive quantitative and qualitative method to evaluate learning motivation and understanding of science in each cycle. The results of this research show that the application of the Culturally Responsive Teaching approach with game-based method can significantly improve students’ learning motivation and understanding of science. Students actively participated in the learning process. It provides an overview of the improvement in learning motivation. Students’ ability to analyze concept in the macroscopic level in the first cycle which then progressed to the submicroscopic level in the second cycle, reflected an improvement in their understanding of science. This research implies that integrating cultural aspects and games in the learning process can enhance the quality of learning and students’ academic performance.
