IMPLEMENTASI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER PADA ANAK USIA DINI DI TK ULIL ALBAB KOTA SERANG

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of character education in early childhood as well as the supporting and inhibiting factors of the implementation of character education. This research was conducted at Ulil Albab Kindergarten, Walantaka District, Serang City, Banten. The subjects in this study were students while the informants in this study were the principal and two teachers. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. After the data is collected then the data is analyzed using data triangulation with data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study explain that the implementation of character education in Ulil Albab Kindergarten Serang City is carried out through the following activities: 1) Religious character values are instilled through reading prayers and short surahs before learning, getting used to smiles, greetings, greetings, politeness and manners, washing hands and praying before eating, holding events on Islamic holidays, and Hajj manasik. 2) Honest character values are instilled through advice by telling that cheating is not good, returning found items that do not belong to them, introducing stories that contain honesty values. 3) Creative values are instilled through drawing activities, making simple handicrafts, and performing arts activities. 4) The character values of courage and cooperation are instilled through outing class learning, giving motivation, being given responsibility, trying new things, and being given constructive advice. So it can be concluded that the implementation of character education in Ulil Albab Kindergarten Serang City is carried out by habituation or practice, given advice, and motivation. In addition, there are changes experienced by students after being given character education.
