PEMBERDAYAAN MASYARAKAT DESA BUMI JAYA MELALUI UMKM INDUSTRI GERABAH

Abstract

Abstrak: Pada penelitian ini akan membahas mengenai kerajinan gerabah di Desa Bumi Jaya yang dapat memberdayakan masyarakat melalui Usaha Mikro Kecil dan Menengah, dalam konteks ini UMKM Industri Gerabah yang dalam proses produksi kerajinan gerabahnya turut melibatkan pengrajin gerabah di Desa Bumi Jaya. Kemudian akan dibahas pula mengenai profil desa Bumi Jaya, Sejarah terbentuknya UMKM Industri Gerabah, Perkembangan UMKM Industri gerabah serta menganalisis faktor pendukung dan penghambat dalam perkembangan UMKM Bumi Gerabah. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan turun ke subjek dan objek penelitian secara langsung di Desa Bumi Jaya Kecamatan Ciruas Kabupaten Serang. selain itu, penelitian ini juga menggunakan pendekatan studi literatur yakni peneliti membaca serta mengelola sumber-sumber literatur yang berkaitan dengan penelitian sebelumnya. Dengan demikian, penelitian tentang UMKM Industri Gerabah bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana cara UMKM industri Gerabah memberdayakan masyarakat sekitar desa yaitu para pengrajin gerabah. Para pengrajin diberdayakan dengan dikenalkan pada teknik-teknik pembuatan gerabah baik seperti teknik glasir, penggunaan corak warna, cara pembuatan baik secara cetak dengan memanfaatkan mesin cetak maupun secara manual tradisional, hingga sampai pada tahap finishing dan layak dipasarkan secara impor maupun ekspor. Keterampilan pengrajin gerabah yang sudah ada sejak kesultanan banten dan diwariskan secara turun-temurun ini berkembang menjadi mata pencarian masyarakat Desa Bumi Jaya, seiring dengan kemajuan zaman diharapkan UMKM Industri Gerabah ini dapat berkembang dan bersaing baik impor maupun ekspor supaya dapat dikenal sebagai sentra kerajinan gerabah di Banten. Abstract: This research will discuss pottery handicrafts in Bumi Jaya Village that can empower the community through Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, in this context the Pottery Industry MSMEs which in the production process of pottery handicrafts also involve pottery craftsmen in Bumi Jaya Village. Then it will also discuss the profile of Bumi Jaya village, the history of the formation of the Pottery Industry MSMEs, the development of the Pottery Industry MSMEs and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors in the development of Bumi Pottery MSMEs. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach by going down to the subject and object of research directly in Bumi Jaya Village, Ciruas District, Serang Regency. In addition, this research also uses a literature study approach, namely researchers reading and managing literature sources related to previous research. Thus, research on Pottery Industry MSMEs aims to find out how the Pottery industry MSMEs empower the community around the village, namely pottery craftsmen. The craftsmen are empowered by being introduced to good pottery making techniques such as glaze techniques, the use of color patterns, how to make both prints by utilizing printing machines and traditional manuals, until they reach the finishing stage and are suitable for import and export markets. The skills of pottery craftsmen that have existed since the sultanate of banten and have been passed down from generation to generation have developed into the livelihood of the people of Bumi Jaya Village, along with the progress of the times, it is hoped that these Pottery Industry MSMEs can develop and compete both import and export so that they can be recognized as a center for pottery crafts in Banten.
