Abstract

In physics learning, training process skills is expected to help students achieve learning goals in accordance with predetermined basic competencies. This process skill is integrated in one of the learning methods, namely the recovery method. This disclosure-based learning is applied as an aspect of strengthening the scientific approach. In its application, the teacher acts as a mentor, by providing opportunities for students to actively learn. In delivering teaching material, students are not notified beforehand, so that some concepts or all of them are found on their own. The instrument used in this study was a test of science process skills after participating in learning activities on material elasticity and Hooke's Law. The instrument used to collect data in the form of multiple choice tests amounted to 20 items and was tested to 30 students at SMA Prisma Kota Serang. Each question assesses the aspects of concluding, observing, identifying and manipulating variables, predicting, and interpreting data. Data is processed using Microsoft Excel 2013. The results of the analysis show an increase in observing indicators from 39.95% to 66.62%, concluding from 53.86% to 69.4%, identifying and manipulating variables from 36.6% to 73.3% , predict from 39.43% to 68.31%, and interpret data from 73.3% to 98.3%. As well as the results of the N-Gain Test obtained a value of 0.46 and categorized as G-Medium.

Keywords: Natural Phenomenon, Discovery Method, Students’ Science Process Skill, Elasticity and Hooke's Law
