Abstract

This study aims to determine the extent of the Interactive Lecture Demonstration (ILD) learning model using simulations for Conceptual Change (CC) on material momentum and impulses, which can reduce the number of students' misconceptions on learning momentum and impulses. The research method used in this study is the Quasi-Experimental design "experimental class and control class". The subject of the research was class X students at SMAN 5 Serang City with a sampling technique based on certain considerations (purposive sampling). The sample in this study were students of class X MIPA 4 and X MIPA 5 totaling 36 students. The test used was multiple choice in the form of 15 items. The average student's ability of students' ability at the pre-test at the beginning of learning students have a concept of understanding by 7% after learning the percentage of students understanding the concept increases to 62%. Meanwhile, in the misconception category from pretest 39% decreased to 10%. In the Lack of Knowledge category, by 21% to 44%. So that on an average percentage error category this percentage again decreased at the time of the pretest by 10% and decreased at the posttest to 7%. The N-Gain Test results are -0.6 and are categorized as G-Medium.

Keywords: Misconception, Conceptual Change, ILD Model, Simulation, Momentum, and Impulse
