Abstract

Science process skills was skills that students must possess because they were able to apply scientific attitudes in understanding, developing and discovering science to solve scientific problems systematically. This research was supported by the low level of science process skill which is owned by students, this is due to lack student involvement in learningĀ  and practicum. One of the alternative used is implementing guided inquiry based worksheets. This study aims to determine the improvement and differences of students' science process skills that are applied to learning using guided inquiry worksheets and classes that use procedural worksheets. This research was conducted at SMAN 2 KS Cilegon for academic year 2017/2018. The research methods used in this research was quasi experimental design with nonequivalent control group design. Sample for this research are 30 students of class X MIA 4 as an experimental class and 30 students of X MIA 5 as a control class. The data was collected by test and observation of science process skill. The results showed that the average N-gain value of the experimental class was 0.70 categorized as high. While the average control class N-gain value of 0.49 is categorized as moderate. Thus it can be concluded that the improvement of science process skills in simple experimental class harmonic motion material is higher than the improvement of science process skills of control class students. Thus it can be concluded that the improvement of science process skills in the simple harmonic motion material of the experimental class students is higher than the control class students. With a significance level š¯‘ˇ = 0.05, t count> t table or 5.06> 1.672. It can be concluded that learning using inquiry-based worksheets was effective.
