Pengaruh Metode Ceramah Berbasis Artificial Intelligence Terhadap Kemampuan Berpikir Tingkat Tinggi Siswa Pada Materi Gelombang

The level of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) among students in Indonesia remains relatively low. Although student-centered learning strategies have been widely promoted, their practical application often encounters challenges such as extensive time demands and insufficient infrastructure. As a result, educators frequently revert to the lecture method, even though the conventional format is less effective in nurturing HOTS due to its unidirectional nature. This study seeks to assess the influence of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into lecture-based instruction on students’ HOTS in the context of wave material. The research was conducted over a one-month period at SMAN 6 Pandeglang. Participants included two Grade XI classes: XI.5, assigned as the intervention group, and XI.1, functioning as the comparison group. These groups were chosen using purposive sampling. The study employed a quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent group comparison. Data were gathered through pretest and posttest instruments consisting of five descriptive questions. Statistical analysis was carried out using an independent samples t-test, yielding a p-value of 0.009, indicating a statistically significant difference. These findings suggest that the AI-enhanced lecture method positively contributes to the development of students’ HOTS in wave-related topics. Additionally, N-Gain analysis showed greater progress in the intervention group, categorized as moderate, compared to the control group.
