Penerapan Media Virtual Phet Pada Materi Fisika Gas Ideal Untuk Meningkatkan Pemahaman Siswa SMA Kelas XI

Abstract

This research was backgrounded by does not play an active role in the learning process and lack of interest of educators to use learning media in the teaching and learning process. The purpose of this study is 1) Knowing the increase in understanding of class XI high school students by using PhET virtual media on the Ideal Gas material 2) Knowing the effectiveness of improving student understanding with the physics learning process using PhET virtual media and don’t use PhET virtual media on Gas Ideal material. This research method uses quantitative research methods. The results of this research  are there is an increase in students' understanding that can be seen from the results of data analysis that has been tested for Normality and Homogeneity of data that results in Gain values from pre test scores and post test Experiment classes and Control Classes. The results of the experimental class gain are greater than the control class: 0.61 ≥ 0.23 improved understanding of students who received treatment using Virtual PhET media is 0.61% while those who do not use PhET virtual media are 0.23%. The effectiveness of improving student’s understanding is seen from the results of the t test by passing the test for Normality and Homogeneity of Gain data. The results obtained from the t test are the effectiveness of improving student's understanding value of t table ≤ Test value t (2.0 ≤ 2.5). So, the resulting data shows the Effectiveness of Increasing Understanding of Grade XI High School Students with a percentage of t table 2% ≤ t count 2.5%.
