Abstract

This study aims to apply PBL learning models based on role playing in static fluid material to improve students' conceptual understanding. This research is a PBL development research combined with role playing. The instruments in this study are pre-test questions, post-test questions, student worksheet, and assessment rubrics. An assessment of the improvement of conceptual comprehension skills in this model, calculated using Gain, between the control class and the experimental class. Data obtained from the assessment rubric are analyzed quantitatively, then used to improve the learning steps of this model. The results of this study are increasing the ability to understand students' concepts after learning using PBL models based on role playing. Assessments from experts about PBL and role playing are very feasible and can be used as a form of learning model in the classroom.
