Journal History

Journal of English Language Studies was first published in March 2016, by Department of English Education, Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa with the main aim to spread critical and original analysis on the current issues of English language teaching, linguistics and literature both local and international.

 

Since Volume 2, Number 2, September 2017, Journal of English Language Studies has used the new cover which shows the uniqueness of the journal to help the author recognize the journal. Moreover, for Volume 3, Number 1, March 2018 until Volume 4, Number 2, September 2019, Journal of English Language Studies used TEMPLATE 4.1. and TEMPLATE 5.1. will be used for Volume 5, Number 1, March 2020.

 

In January 2018, Siti Hikmah stepped down as the Editor in Chief and replaced by Dhafid Wahyu Utomo. The review procedure will remain the same, and the notification of the decision will be sent by the same address at jels@untirta.ac.id


Since Vol. 3, No. 2, September 2018 Journal of English Language Studies has used “Turnitin” Anti-Plagiarism Software to check the authenticity of the articles.

 

Starter, Volume 7, Number 1, we have introduced our new template, version 7.1. This decision was made as part of our ongoing commitment to enhancing the overall layout and readability of our journal. The new template incorporates improved formatting and design elements, providing a more engaging and seamless reading experience while adhering to the latest industry standards for academic publishing. By adopting this new template, we aim to streamline the manuscript submission and review process, better serve our authors and readers, and facilitate the dissemination of high-quality research.

 

Started March 2023, in the Journal of English Language Studies will publish a maximum of 15 papers in each issue due to the high number of submissions from authors. However, the quality of the articles will not be neglected; all accepted papers will undergo a very tight review process to maintain the highest standards.
