Android Application: Randalls’ ESL Cyber Listening Lab in Promoting Listening Class with Technology

Abstract


This research is intended to describe the process of using android application: Randalls’ ESL cyber listening in the Interperetive Listening course. It is also aimed to find out the effectiveness of the android application: Randalls’ESL Cyber Listening Lab to promote the students’ listening test score. Mix-method approach were employed in this research. The descriptive-quantitative design was applied to meet the objective of the research. In form of qualitative, observation were conducted to see the process of using android application: Randaals’ESL Cyber Listening Lab. Then, in form of quantitative, the tests were given to the students to find out the effectiveness of android application: Randalls’ ESL Cyber Listening Lab. This research involved two classes as the experimental and control class from second semester in the English Education Department. The result showed that the teaching learning process in the Interpretive Listening run smoothly and the students are well-prepared to discuss the material. The students’ score indicated  good improvement. The result of t test showed that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. It can be concluded that the use of android application: Randalls’ ESL Cyber Listening Lab in the listening course is effective to increase the students’ score.
